Cocaine fuelled private hire driver caught with large amount of drugs with intent to supply in Derby

A private hire vehicle (PHV) driver has been caught driving under the influence of cocaine and with a large amount of drugs in the vehicle, in Derby.
Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit highlighted the arrest on their official Twitter account.
A spokesperson for the police also confirmed that the driver was not one licensed locally. From the image made available of the vehicle, it appears to have a Wolverhampton private hire licence plate on the rear.
Wolverhampton Council recently confirmed that they have around 18,000 private hire licences registered with them.
It's well documented within the taxi and PHV industry that many of those licensed with Wolverhampton tend to work in other locations - which they are legally allowed to do.
Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit @DerbyshireRPU, said: "Derby. Private hire taxi plated from outside Derbyshire stopped for speeding. Driver tests positive for cocaine and in possession of large quantity of drugs. Arrested for drug driving and possession with intent to supply. Taxi plates seized."
