Curb, the North American taxi-hailing and mobility technology firm, has announced a new partnership with Newsmax to expand its in-vehicle media offering on Taxi TV. The deal will bring national news programming into taxis across 65 US markets.
Curb’s Taxi TV already runs across more than 15,000 in-car screens, generating an estimated 2.3 billion impressions annually. The platform is designed to capture rider attention with a mix of influencer-led content, hyperlocal weather, entertainment and advertising. The addition of Newsmax signals a push to widen the variety of premium programming offered in-ride.
The company has positioned Taxi TV as part of the growing digital out-of-home (DOOH) advertising sector. Unlike traditional outdoor formats, DOOH allows for addressable targeting, motion-led creative and campaign measurement in what Curb describes as a fraud-free environment. Curb has also developed its Journey Connect tool to extend ad campaigns beyond the trip itself, giving marketers a way to reach passengers before, during and after their ride.
Recent industry figures show that the out-of-home market generated $2.86 billion in the second quarter of 2025, with digital formats accounting for over a third of total spend. Advertisers have increasingly looked to DOOH as a brand-safe, accountable medium at a time when digital transparency has become a key concern.
Newsmax joins a content line-up that already includes TikTok material, weather services and Curb Creators, the firm’s platform for influencer-led programming. Curb has signalled its ambition to evolve Taxi TV into a multi-vertical media service, with space for mainstream broadcasters, digital-first publishers and independent creators.
The deal highlights how mobility-based media is being positioned as an important part of future media strategies, combining mass reach with an audience that is uniquely captive during journeys.
Lizclaire Tamam, Director of Marketing & Media at Curb, said: “Curb is building an ecosystem where premium content meets measurable delivery.
“Partnering with Newsmax strengthens our ability to deliver accountable, revenue-driving media at scale while enhancing the rider experience. By combining addressability, transparency, and engaging programming, we’re creating a platform that delivers ROI for advertisers, growth for partners, and lasting value for riders.”
Andy Biggers, Newsmax’s Senior Vice President of Distribution, said: “Curb’s Taxi TV network brings Newsmax, the #4 news network and the #6 cable network overall according to Nielsen, into a powerful new distribution channel that reaches people on the move.
“This partnership expands our ability to reach audiences in major markets and gives our advertisers and sponsors direct access to consumers in an impactful, full-screen, sound-on environment.”
