Curb has launched its Curb Flow demand aggregation platform in Newark, New Jersey, extending its taxi technology network across the wider New York metropolitan area ahead of an anticipated surge in international visitors this summer.
The expansion comes as Newark Liberty International Airport prepares for increased passenger traffic. Located around seven miles from MetLife Stadium, the airport is expected to act as a key gateway for visitors attending this summer’s major international football tournament and other associated events across the region.
Curb Flow combines street hail, fleet dispatch and app booking requests into a single platform, allowing licensed taxi drivers to access trips from multiple demand sources. According to the company, the technology has been shown to increase driver earnings by up to 40% while reducing dead mileage by 26%, helping fleets improve vehicle utilisation during both peak periods and everyday operations.
Dorel Tamam, Vice President of Curb’s Mobile Business Unit, said: “Newark is going to be one of the busiest cities in the world this summer, and the way visitors move through it will define their first and last impression of the region. Curb Flow gives Newark’s licensed taxi drivers a direct line into that surge, and just as importantly, it strengthens local mobility long after the crowds go home.”
The Newark rollout strengthens Curb’s presence across the New York metropolitan area, where Curb Flow already operates in New York City. The company said the combined network is intended to create one of North America’s most extensive licensed taxi ecosystems, giving drivers access to more journey opportunities while improving availability for passengers.
Since launching Curb Flow in 2023, the company says the platform has delivered up to a fourfold increase in trip volumes in some deployed markets. Newark follows recent expansions into Las Vegas and London, with the technology also operating in cities including Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, Washington D.C., San Francisco and Reno.
