Deadline approaches for taxi LEZ exemption applications in Edinburgh

The City of Edinburgh Council has issued a reminder to taxi drivers about the upcoming Low Emission Zone (LEZ) exemption deadline.

Drivers have until 12 September 2024 to apply for an exemption if their vehicles are awaiting retrofitting.

Taxis registered for the Clean Vehicle Retrofit Accreditation Scheme (CVRAS) through the Energy Saving Trust (EST) and facing delays in the process can qualify for a time-limited exemption.

This exemption will expire on 31 October 2024.

To be eligible, drivers must provide evidence of the delay, including a letter from EST and proof of a deposit paid for the retrofit. No further extensions will be granted after this date.
