Dog dies and owner sustains serious injuries after being hit by private hire vehicle

A pedestrian has been left with serious head injuries during an incident involving a private hire vehicle, which also killed his pet puppy.


Merseyside Police and paramedics were called to the scene of the collision in Wallasey at around 6.30pm on Monday 25 November.

They were responding to reports of a male pedestrian being hit by a Peugeot Expert private hire vehicle.

The man, in his 20s, received serious head and facial injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment, while his puppy died at the scene.

The driver of the private hire vehicle stopped to assist police with their enquiries.

Merseyside Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to get in touch.
