Uber has announced their plans to celebrate Earth Month in 2023 by expanding their eco-friendly ride options.

Uber is a global mobility platform that offers various transportation services, such as ride-hailing, bike-sharing, and public transit. Uber has committed to becoming a zero-emissions mobility platform by 2040, and has been investing in electric vehicles (EVs) and other green initiatives.

One of Uber's green products offered to customers in North America is Comfort Electric, which allows customers to request a ride in a premium EV, such as a Tesla, a Polestar, or a Ford Mustang Mach-E. Comfort Electric was launched in 2022 in select markets in the US and Canada, and has been well-received by both drivers and riders. According to Uber, Comfort Electric trips have lower emissions, higher ratings, and higher earnings than average trips.

To mark Earth Month in 2023, Uber is expanding Comfort Electric to 14 new markets in the US and Canada, bringing the total number of markets to 40. These new markets include Detroit, Indianapolis, Jacksonville, Minneapolis-St.Paul, Montreal, Nashville, New Orleans, Orlando, Palm Springs, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, Salt Lake City, Tampa Bay, and Toronto. Starting from 30 March 2023, customers in these markets can tap a button and request a ride in a premium EV through the Uber app.

To encourage more customers to try Comfort Electric, Uber is also offering a special promotion for Earth Month. From 11 April to 30 April 2023, customers can get up to 25% (up to $10) off two Comfort Electric trips with the code GOELECTRIC. This code is valid for Uber Comfort Electric rides only in the 40 markets where the product is available.

Uber hopes that by expanding Comfort Electric and offering discounts, more customers will choose to ride electric and reduce their environmental impact. Uber also reminds customers that they can go green with other products on their platform, such as Uber Green (low/no-emission rides), Lime (e-bikes and e-scooters), and public transit options. Uber believes that everyone should have access to eco-friendly ride options and that it is their goal to make it as effortless as possible.
