Edinburgh private hire vehicle caught by police executing illegal manoeuvre


Edinburgh Roads Police recently intercepted a private hire vehicle executing an illegal manoeuvre in the city centre.


The incident occurred when officers observed the car making a prohibited right turn onto Candlemaker Row from George IV Bridge.

The driver, breaking local traffic laws, was stopped by the police and issued a conditional offer of a fixed penalty. The penalty served is a reminder of the importance of adhering to traffic regulations to ensure road safety in Edinburgh.


A Roads Policing Scotland spokesperson said: “Edinburgh Roads Police stopped this private hire vehicle as they observed it carry out a prohibited no right turn onto Candlemaker Row from George IV Bridge.


“The driver was issued with a conditional offer of fixed penalty.”
