Elderly taxi passenger seriously injured in West Moors collision

Dorset Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious injury collision involving a taxi in West Moors that left an elderly passenger hospitalised.
Officers were called at 1.37pm on Friday 23 January 2026 to a collision between a blue Volkswagen Caddy taxi and a silver Ford B-Max at the junction of Station Road and Denewood Road.
A woman in her 80s who was travelling as a passenger in the taxi was taken to hospital. Police later confirmed her injuries were serious and said her family has been informed.
No further details have been released about the circumstances of the collision or the condition of the other occupants involved.

The Serious Collision Investigation Team is now seeking witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage from the area around the time of the incident.

Sergeant Mike Burt, of the Serious Collision Investigation Team, said: “We are carrying out a detailed investigation into this collision and I would ask any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please make contact with us.
“I would also make a request to any motorists with dashcam who were in the area around the relevant time to please review their footage for anything that might assist our enquiries.”
