Essex cabbie punched in the face during attempted robbery of money bag

An Essex taxi driver was punched in the face by a man who attempted to snatch his money bag, and now police are asking anyone who may have dashcam footage or may have been a witness to the attack to come forward.
Essex Police have confirmed that a man has been charged in relation to the attempted robbery which took place in Clacton.
The 22-year-old from Thorpe-le-Soken has been remanded to appear at Ipswich Crown Court on Wednesday 15 January. A spokesperson for Essex Police, said: 'A man attempted to take a taxi driver’s bag and punched him in Carnarvon Road at around 4.20am on Sunday 15 December.
'We continue to appeal for witnesses or dash cam.'
