An Essex cab driver who sadly died following a road traffic collision in Basildon last month has been named by police as 47-year-old Mohamed Mohellebi.

Essex Police were called shortly after 7.30pm on Friday 21 February with reports of a collision on Courtauld Road involving a white Kia Optima cab and a lorry.

Despite the efforts of paramedics, the cab driver, who was identified as Mr Mohellebi, sadly died at the scene.

In a tribute his family described him as a devout family man, saying: "Mohamed was a licensed Billericay cab driver for ten years, a devout family man with three children aged 14, 11 and five.

"He made an impact on many peoples' lives and will be greatly missed."
