Thurrock Community Policing Team have caught a Transport for London (TfL) licensed private hire driver operating without any insurance in Chadwell St Mary, Essex.

Officers spotted the driver whilst on patrol, completing a paid fare. On further inspection of the vehicle, it became apparent that the driver did not have any vehicle insurance.

Officers seized the vehicle and sent the driver packing home in a cab.

Thurrock CPT tweeted: "Whilst patrolling Chadwell St Mary, community policing team officers PC Low-rise and PC Watkins spotted this taxi [private hire vehicle], with a passenger on board, driving with no insurance!

"Vehicle seized and the driver is catching a taxi of their own."

Photos posted by Thurrock CPT show the silver Toyota Prius being loaded onto a tow truck and one of the officers issuing a ticket.
