A private hire driver in Liverpool was reported after enforcement officers found two horrendously worn tyres with exposed cords.

The vehicle was found during an operation on Sunday 27 November which involved Liverpool City Council (LCC) Licensing and Merseyside Police officers.

LCC Licensing shared images on social media of the two tyres. Both tyres were so heavily worn that the grip marks had become slick in areas and the white cords beneath the rubber had been exposed.

The driver was reported for the offences.

A LCC Licensing spokesperson said via social media: “During an operation today with Merseyside Police, Licensing Officers inspected a private hire vehicle.

“On inspection found to have 2 illegal tyres both with cords exposed. Driver will be reported for offences and issued a prohibitation of use notice for vehicle.”
