A man sporting a Deliveroo delivery rider's attire has been arrested and charged following a short foot chase with officers from the Metropolitan Police Taskforce.

Officers attempted to stop the rider in East London, but the man decided to flee on foot. Officers were able to chase down the man and conduct a roadside search of his Deliveroo bag.

During the search, the officers found a number of bags containing drugs, a large knife, some mobile phones and cash.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police Taskforce @MetTaskforce said: "A delivery cyclist failed to stop for TSG in E2 - detained after a short foot chase.

"These are definitely not pizzas he was delivering & he does not work for Deliveroo, despite having procured a uniform. One in custody."
