Police officers have warned the public to look out for fake Scottish £50 notes circulating in the King’s Lynn and London area.

A youth from London was arrested by police officers after trying to pay for goods with the counterfeit banknotes.

A King’s Lynn Police spokesperson: “Town centre patrols yesterday led to an arrest of a youth from the London area who was identified as passing counterfeit Scottish £50 notes.

“Kings Lynn Police advise retailers to check any Scottish £50 notes with care and report to us.”

The new £50 note started to become available in bank branches and at ATM’s in Summer 2021.
