Five people have been taken to hospital after a collision involving a private hire vehicle in Walthamstow, East London.

London's Ambulance Service confirmed that they attended the scene of the incident where five people were treated for injuries before being taken to hospital, three as priority patients.

Images circulating social media show a white Toyota vehicle, with a Transport for London (TfL) roundel in the window, smashed at the scene of the collision.

Severe damage to a barber shop can be seen, with a number of casualties sitting and laying on the floor around the premises.

One woman seems to have sustained cuts to her leg and appears to be bleeding. A huge pane of glass can be seen smashed right beside her.

A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service has confirmed that they have now stood down from the scene.

Updates on what happened and the severity of the injuries sustained are yet to be released.
