FREE NOW offer PHV drivers free support to pass required English language exams

Updated: Jan 12, 2023

FREE NOW has announced a new partnership with leading English training provider, Russbridge Academy, to support private hire vehicle (PHV) drivers to pass the required English language exams (SERU and ELR) currently required to get or renew their licence.

Since October, PHV drivers have been required to meet an English language requirement, including completing a SERU and ELR assessment, which combined assess reading, writing, speaking and listening skills.

To support PHV drivers in completing these assessments successfully, FREE NOW is offering its drivers 20% discount on Russbridge courses specifically tailored for them. Drivers will be able to access individual courses to match their pace and level, and they will be able to practice by doing mock exams to ensure they are set up correctly for the real tests.

In addition, FREE NOW will be hosting a free of charge information session for PHV drivers on the 23 January, where they can learn more about the exam, including tips and advice, and drivers will be able to clarify any questions they might have.

A Russbridge Academy spokesperson said: “As a leading English training provider in the United Kingdom, we are delighted to partner with FREE NOW to support their drivers to complete their language assessments successfully and we encourage all drivers to join the information session on the 23 January.”

Mariusz Zabrocki, General Manager at FREE NOW UK, said: “Our drivers are at the centre of our business, and this collaboration with Russbridge Academy allows us to provide them with extra support, so they easily pass the required English language assessments.

“By helping our drivers obtain and renew their licence, we also guarantee that our users can continue to have the best possible experience when using our service.”
