A crowdfunding page has been set up to help raise funds for a London taxi driver who had their new electric taxi trashed by members of the public who were celebrating England’s semi-final victory against Denmark on Wednesday.

Footage circulated social media sites showing numerous people jumping onto the roof of the white LEVC TXE cab which got caught up in the celebrations in central London.

According to sources close to TaxiPoint, the vehicle sustained extensive damage, including a smashed roof.

A JustGiving page has now been set up to raise up to £5,000 to help go towards repair costs.

Anthony Hoffman, of Taxi-Now black taxi app, launched the fundraising and said: “Weʼre raising £5,000 for repairs to a white txe that was damaged during the football celebrations after the England vs Denmark game.

“Taxi-Now have created this justgiving ‘fund me‘ page. The taxi trade is a community and we feel for the owner of this taxi.”

If you wish to donate to help with the repairs, you are being asked to do so via https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/taxinowwhitetxerepairfunding?
