G7, a European taxi provider, has expanded its international payment offer by accepting JCB Cards across its entire taxi fleet.
The move gives JCB cardholders the ability to pay directly through payment terminals installed in G7 vehicles, in a step aimed at improving the passenger experience for overseas travellers in Paris.
The agreement links one of Paris’s largest taxi operators with a global card scheme that says it has 175 million cardmembers across 18 countries and territories, mainly in Asia. For G7, the change is part of a wider push to adapt its in-car services to a more international customer base as inbound tourism strengthens.
The development comes as Asian visitor numbers in the French capital continue to recover. According to the latest figures published by Paris je t’aime, the Paris Tourist Office, Chinese visitors in summer 2025 were up more than 40% compared with summer 2023, while Japanese visitors rose by more than 34% and Indian visitors by more than 14%.
Paris taxi operator G7 has added JCB card acceptance across its fleet, widening payment options for international visitors as travel demand from key Asian markets continues to recover.
The partnership carries operational relevance beyond payments. G7 said its taxis are authorised to access restricted-traffic areas including Rue de Rivoli and the area around the Louvre Museum, and can also use lanes reserved for taxis and buses. That can shorten journey times to major tourist destinations compared with some other road users, particularly during busy travel periods.
Yann Ricordel, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of G7, said: "The integration of JCB Card payments in G7 taxis is fully aligned with our commitment to making the customer experience increasingly accessible and to meeting the expectations of an ever more diverse international clientele. By facilitating payment for all travellers, wherever they come from, we help make getting around Paris simpler and more seamless."
Ray Shinzawa, Managing Director of JCB Europe, added: "Enabling JCB acceptance across G7 taxis enhances the payment experience for our 175 million cardmembers, providing greater convenience and peace of mind as they travel throughout Paris. This partnership underscores our commitment to expanding acceptance and driving growth across the region."
