Group armed with knives smash windows of minicab to stab passenger in shocking daylight London attack

In a shocking incident captured on dashcam footage, a man was viciously attacked and stabbed inside a private hire vehicle in Rainham, East London.

The assault, which took place at 5.10am on 23 June, involved three assailants armed with knives.

The incident began when a man wearing a black hoodie and red mask smashed the rear window of the minicab with a hammer. Simultaneously, another attacker dragged the passenger, dressed in a light blue t-shirt, from the car while repeatedly stabbing him in the arm. The victim, bleeding heavily, pleaded with the driver to escape, managing to fend off his attackers as best he could.

The driver, responding to the chaos, eventually sped away from Spencer Road, where the assault occurred. The attackers had emerged from a white Mercedes, targeting the victim after all three men had exited the cab. The victim, in a desperate bid to escape, re-entered the vehicle while his companions fled the scene.

After managing to drive away, the distressed driver inquired about the passenger's destination, who urgently requested to be taken to the nearest police station. The victim handed the driver a large sum of cash to cover the damage to the vehicle. He then called the police, reporting that he was being followed and had been stabbed.

The victim later admitted himself to a hospital, where his injuries were confirmed not to be life-threatening. The Metropolitan Police have launched an investigation into the incident.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: "Police are aware of a video circulating on social media showing dashcam footage of a man in a car being attacked by a group of men armed with knives.
