Liverpool licensing officers continued their taxi and private hire vehicle (PHV) checks by reporting a taxi driver for an illegally worn tyre.

Liverpool City Council (LCC) officers conducted an operation on Wednesday (25 January). Officers shared an image of the tyre which showed half of the tyre worn down to a potentially dangerous level.

The driver has been reported for the offence.

An LCC Licensing spokesperson said: “Officers inspected hackney carriage and found to have an illegal tyre.

“Driver issued a prohibitation notice for the vehicle and will be reported for offences.”
