Investigation launched after taxi driver murdered in Greater Manchester

A murder investigation has been launched after a taxi driver sadly died following an assault on 30 October.


Officers were called at around 5am on Saturday 30 October to a report of an assault along Queensway in Rochdale, Greater Manchester.

Police arrived and enquiries established that a taxi driver – a 39-year-old male – had been seriously attacked.


The victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries. He sadly passed away in hospital on Sunday (14 November) morning.

Two males - aged 20 and 18 - have been charged in relation to the incident. Enquiries are ongoing.
