Liverpool taxi suspended after two tyres deemed illegal found

A Liverpool licensed Hackney Carriage taxi was suspended this week due to two tyres deemed illegal.


The cab was stopped by officers as part of Liverpool City Council‘s (LCC) ‘Operation Sapphire’ on Wednesday morning.

During the inspection of the vehicle, two tyres where found to be below the legal limit.


LCC shared images of the tyres on social media. One of the tyres appeared to be a heavily used spare wheel in the boot of the vehicle.


In the tweet shared by LCC it said: “Operation Sapphire a hackney suspended today for 2 illegal tyres.”
