LOCAL CAB: Uber announces FOURTH operator in Bradford area

Updated: Oct 17, 2022

Uber has announced that it is extending Local Cab further in Bradford, enabling passengers to book trips with an additional local operator via the Uber app.

Anyone opening the Uber app in the city can select the Local Cab option, alongside regular Uber options UberX and UberXL. Local Cab trips will be booked directly with local operators, and all subsequent customer support will be provided by them.

The operator involved in the latest launch of Local Cab is 247 Cars. The extension of Local Cab in Bradford follows a previous wave of launches with operators such as Eccleshill Premier Taxis, Wrose Village Cars and Zip.

Since the company’s successful pilot of Local Cab last year, the product has launched in over 50 locations across the UK.

Obaid Raza, Director at 247 Cars, said: “Demand for taxi services in Bradford has grown considerably in recent months, so it's great to be able to give passengers more options to get from A to B.”

Andrew Brem, General Manager at Uber UK, said: “We were thrilled to launch Local Cab in Bradford earlier this year – rolling it out to more operators was the natural next step. This will help to maximise earnings opportunities for drivers and provide passengers living in the city with greater choice when booking a ride.”
