Updated: Jul 2, 2020

A Transport for London (TfL) licensed private hire car has been seized and the driver reported for drug offences in Newham, East London.

Traffic Inspector for the Metropolitan Police - East Roads Policing Team, Neal Donohoe, highlighted the find on his Twitter account accompanied by an image of the seized vehicle sporting a TfL private hire roundel in its rear window.

Neal Donohoe (@NealDonohoe) wrote: "#EastRPT officers stopped this vehicle in @MPSNewham. Driver reported for drug offences and vehicle seized."

TaxiPoint has contacted the force to find out if the driver was a licensed private hire driver or using someone else's vehicle.
