London private hire driver filmed in embarrassing situation stuck in purpose built cycle lane

A London licensed private hire driver has been filmed driving along a purpose built cycle lane along the capital's embankment.

The driver, unable to exit the lane due to it being segregated by a raised middle island, can be seen driving close to a cyclist who was using the lane for the purpose it was built.

It seems the driver of the silver Toyota Prius took a wrong turning earlier along the embankment heading East, finding their way onto the cycle lane.

The embarrassing footage was recorded on the dashcam of London cabbie, Mike, who uploaded the video to social media.

The incident happened late on 5 August, just before midnight.

It is unclear whether the driver had a customer on board at the time, but the incident could have turned out a lot worse as the cycle lane is two way.
