The Licensed Taxi Drivers’ Association (LTDA) trade newspaper has celebrated a mammoth milestone by publishing their 500th edition of TAXI.

The long-term printed trade paper has been published regularly since their debut edition first appeared in the 1970s. In a specially created issue, readers are taken through historical editions comparing taxi industry problems of yesteryear to today's challenging topics.

An LTDA spokesperson said: “We would like to take the opportunity to thank our readers old and new, including LTDA members, the wider trade and others who have taken an interest in the goings on in London’s licensed taxi trade, for all their support over the years, as well as former editors, contributors and advertisers, who made this possible.

“We’ve been looking back at old issues and how the newspaper has evolved, all the way back to Volume 1, Number 1 published on 17th March 1970 and in this edition, we are celebrating the role that TAXI has played and everyone who has been part of it over the years.

“Many of our writers have also been reflecting on TAXI’s contribution to the trade during that time, what’s changed and what’s stayed the same.

“We hope to still be here in another 500. Thank you.”
