Major London roadworks on Piccadilly set to begin 5 February

Perry Richardson

Westminster City Council has announced an extensive roadworks project set to begin in February 2024, aiming to resurface the bustling Piccadilly carriageway, spanning from Hyde Park Corner to Piccadilly Circus.

This undertaking will result in phased and directional lane closures, inevitably leading to traffic and bus diversions throughout its duration.

The planned resurfacing works are scheduled to take place on:

  • 5th-6th February (Monday-Tuesday): Eastbound closure will be in effect from Hamilton Place to Brick Street.

  • 7th-8th February (Wednesday-Thursday): The eastbound closure will extend from Brick Street to Bolton Street.

  • 9th-10th February (Friday-Saturday): Eastbound closure will continue from Old Bond Street to Albany Courtyard, concluding at 05:00 on Saturday.

  • 12th February (Monday): An eastbound closure will be implemented from Sackville Street to Piccadilly Circus.

  • 13th-14th February (Tuesday-Wednesday): Westbound traffic will be closed from Piccadilly Circus to St James's Street.

  • 15th-17th February (Thursday-Saturday): Westbound closure from Bolton Street to Down Street, expected to end at 05:00 on Saturday.

Motorists are advised to plan their routes accordingly and expect delays in these areas.
