Man assaulted whilst waiting at Barnsley town centre taxi rank

South Yorkshire Police officers have released a CCTV still of men they wish to speak to in connection with a reported assault on a man waiting at a taxi rank in Barnsley town centre.

It was reported that at around 7.45pm on 25 January, a 41-year-old man was waiting at a taxi rank on Market Hill when he was assaulted. He suffered a cut on his head, a chipped tooth and bruising to his face and body.

The men shown in the image released by South Yorkshire Police were in the taxi queue at the time of the assault.

After exhausting all other lines of enquiry, police are now publicly asking for help to identify the men in the CCTV image released as it is believed they may hold information that could help the police inquiry.

Officers are asking anyone with any knowledge to call 101 quoting crime reference number 14/23469/20. You can pass information anonymously to independent charity Crimestoppers via their website – www.crimestoppers-uk.org – or by calling their UK Contact Centre on 0800 555 111.
