Man charged after taxi driver stabbed in both hands and choked during robbery

A man has been charged by police after a taxi driver was stabbed in both hands and choked during a distressing robbery in Bolton.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed that 28-year-old Stephen Mambwe has been charged with attempted robbery and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
He has been remanded into custody ahead of an appearance at Bolton Magistrates' Court today.
At around 2.40am Friday 4 February a man attempted to rob a taxi driver on Trinity Street, Bolton.
During the robbery the taxi driver was choked with a seatbelt and stabbed in both hands.
