Man charged after taxi stolen in West Midlands early on Sunday



A 19-year-old has been charged following the theft of a taxi in Hodge Hill during the early hours of Sunday morning.


The incident happened at around 2am on Bromford Lane. West Midlands Police confirmed they detained the suspect shortly after the vehicle was reported stolen.

Alfie Mooney, from Lyndon Green, has now been charged with theft of a motor vehicle, failing to stop and drink driving.


He is due to appear at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court on 24 June.
