Man charged with alleged robbery attempt on taxi driver in Hampshire
A man has been charged following an alleged robbery attempt on a taxi driver in Sandown.
Police were called shortly after 10pm on Saturday 12 November with reports that a man had tried to rob a taxi driver in Station Avenue and threatened him with a knife.
The victim drove away and nothing was stolen.
Following enquiries, Nicholas Butcher, 37, has been charged with attempted robbery and possession of cannabis.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court on Monday 14 November.
