Man charged with attempted murder after knife attack on Bury taxi driver



A 37-year-old man has been charged with the attempted murder of a taxi driver in Bury.


Richard McCormack, 37, and from Bury has been charged by Greater Manchester Police with attempted murder, and has been remanded into custody.

McCormack is due to appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrate's court on Monday 17 January.


A 24-year-old woman has also been arrested for assisting an offender, and has been released under investigation.

The charges follow an incident on Saturday 8 January. At around 4.15am officers were called to The Rock in Bury to reports that a taxi driver had been threatened, and attacked with a knife.


Emergency services attended, and a 23-year-old man was taken to hospital with cuts to his body and serious facial injuries.
