Man dies in fatal north London crash involving taxi and minibus
A pensioner has died following a horror collision involving a taxi and minibus in north London last night.
Metropolitan Police officers were called to a two vehicle collision on Hyde Estate Rd, NW9 just before 9pm on Saturday 29 February.
The vehicles involved included a London black taxi and a silver minibus. Photos from the scene show the front of the black taxi crumpled after the impact.
Police sources have confirmed that a man, believed to be in his 80s, died at the scene of the accident. It has yet to be confirmed whether the man was the driver of the taxi or minibus.
A series of road closures were put in place last night in the area, however the roads have now reopened.
A Met Police spokesperson told TaxiPoint: “A man, believed to be in his 80s, has died at the scene.
“His next of kin have been informed and a post mortem examination will take place in due course.
“No arrest; enquiries continue to establish the circumstances.”
