Man who violently attacked a taxi driver sentenced to prison

A 19 year-old man has been sentenced at Sheffield Crown Court following an attack on a Sheffield taxi driver last year.

Basan Khan, formerly of South View Road, Sheffield, pleaded guilty to charges of Section 20 wounding and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

On Thursday 18 April 2019, a taxi driver was on South View Road in Sheffield when his taxi was attacked by Khan, causing damage to the windows and bodywork.

Khan then assaulted the victim, causing injuries to his head and body.


Yesterday, Monday 17 February, Khan was sentenced to two years and six months in prison.
