A black cab has crashed through barriers at Manchester Piccadilly Train Station today leaving the taxi rank closed until repairs are made.
A new temporary taxi rank has been created away from the Fairfield Street area whilst the cordon is in place.
Photos show the black TX4 cab embedded in railings near to a line of taxis waiting in a queue. It is unclear at this stage the reasons for the collision.
A spokesperson from Network Rail said via social media: “Vehicle has driven through the barrier to our taxi rank on Fairfield street.
“Our friendly staff are directing passengers to a temporary taxi pick up point further along the street.
“The area will be cordoned off while we make the repairs.”
