MANorQUIN? Police rush to intercept vehicle after reports of a body rolled up in a carpet
Cambridgeshire Police rushed to intercept a vehicle after receiving reports of a body rolled up in a carpet. Eye witnesses said they saw a pair of feet sticking out the window with what seemed to be a human body rolled up in the back of the car.
Officers were able to track down the vehicle, which had been travelling along the M11 motorway. Further investigations revealed that there was a body in the back of the vehicle, but to their relief it was just a mannequin dressed as Prince Charming, which was on route to a themed birthday party.
The hilarious find was highlighted by the police on their official Facebook page. A spokesperson for the force said: “When we received a call on Saturday lunchtime to reports a vehicle was travelling along the M11 with a pair of feet poking out the end of a rolled up piece of carpet, alarm bells were naturally ringing for the informant and our control room.
“We managed to track the vehicle down in Angel Drove, Ely where our officers discovered there were indeed a pair of feet… belonging to a mannequin dressed as Prince Charming who was on his way to a themed birthday.
“Advice was given to the driver to avoid such circumstances occurring again.
