FREENOW will be supporting the Taxi Charity for Military Veterans by matching any tips given to black cab drivers through the app across the UK on Remembrance Sunday - 12 November.

The Taxi Charity for Military Veterans plays a crucial role in society by providing support to veterans from all war conflicts by providing entertainment, outings and trips to commemorations on the continent.

In addition, FREENOW is encouraging black cab drivers on the app to support Poppy Cabs with the transport of war veterans across London to and from the Cenotaph on Sunday (12 November) and will donate to the Charity on behalf of all those who join this kind-hearted initiative.

Every year, Poppy Cabs organises a free taxi service to transport veterans, particularly vulnerable ones, attending the Remembrance Day service and parade on Remembrance Sunday.

Mariusz Zabrocki, General Manager of FREE NOW UK, said: “The Taxi Charity for Military Veterans does an incredible job at supporting war veterans and their families and we are delighted to support them on this particularly important day. We will be encouraging passengers to tip generously, and together we can support the valuable work of this charity.”

Dick Goodwin, Honorary Secretary, Taxi Charity for Military Veterans said: “Every year, we see black cab drivers going the extra mile to support war veterans to attend the Remembrance Day service and parade.

“We are delighted that FREENOW is once again supporting us in raising funds. With the help of caring black cab drivers and passengers, this charitable campaign will help us to continue to support veterans and their families throughout the year.”

Michael Hughes, Poppy Cabs Independent Coordinator, said: “Poppy Cabs unites the taxi trade to help our veterans on Remembrance Sunday. It is wonderful to have FREENOW’s joining us to support war veterans on this important day. These contributions matter because we can provide an even better transport service to those attending commemorations on Sunday. It ensures we have the necessary resources to continue his initiative for many years to come while also contributing to related Charities.”
