Bobby Holley, a London taxi driver, recently shared a photo and short clip from inside his black cab, mesmerising social media users with a meter reading of £569.60.

The extraordinary fare was a result of a long trip from the capital to Stoke-on-Trent, a journey necessitated by train strikes that were taking place that day.

Holley remained humble, expressing astonishment at the unusual trip, stating: "I don't ever show off about my job or earnings to anyone, but a little trip to Stoke-on-Trent was a first."

The photo capturing the impressive meter reading quickly went viral.

With the train strikes causing disruption and inconvenience for commuters, taxis served as a crucial alternative for those needing to travel. Holley's photo shows the essential role taxis play in keeping the country moving during times of disruption.
