Met Police officer and London taxi driver treated after Horseferry Road collision

A police officer and a taxi driver were treated at the scene of a crash in Westminster after a marked police car collided with a taxi while responding to an emergency call.
The incident happened at 10.22am on Friday 15 August on Horseferry Road. According to the Metropolitan Police, the emergency vehicle was on a call-out when the collision occurred.
The taxi driver, a 50-year-old man, and one of the officers sustained injuries described by the London Ambulance Service as non-life-threatening and non-life-changing. Both were treated at the roadside.
The London Fire Brigade also attended the scene as a precaution due to an oil leak caused by the crash.
Road closures were put in place around the area while emergency services responded and the scene was cleared.
Enquiries into the incident are ongoing. Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision to contact them on 101 quoting reference 2566/15Aug.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: "Friday August 15 at 10.22am officers were responding to an emergency when their police car was in collision with a taxi on Horseferry Road, Westminster.
“The driver of the taxi - a 50-year-old man - and one of the police officers were treated at the scene by the London Ambulance Service for non-life-threatening / non-life-changing injuries.“
