Metropolitan Police catch numerous vehicles working for a company without a private hire licence

Metropolitan Police Roads and Transport department have taken to social media to highlight an incident where they stopped a number of private hire vehicles working for a firm which has no licence.


According to a Tweet, the Mets Cabs Unit stopped and checked numerous vehicles working as a shuttle service for a school within London.

TaxiPoint have contacted the Metropolitan Police to find out more details about which firm was operating without a licence.


The Tweet posted by Roads & Transport MPS @MPSRRTPC reads: "CabsUnit working with @TfLTPH have stopped numerous vehicles belonging to a company working without an operator's licence within London, completing work as a school shuttle service."

Officers for the team confirmed that during the stops, no children were left stranded as alternative transportation was arranged to get them to and from school, clarifying that safeguarding was their number one concern.
