Metropolitan Police catch private hire driver with estimated £600k worth of Class A drugs in vehicle

A private hire driver has been caught with approximately 6kg of Class A drugs after officers stopped his vehicle to perform roadside checks.


A stop and search of the blue Toyota Prius was completed, during which a large box was found in the boot of the vehicle containing multiple packages of drugs.

The incident was highlighted by the Metropolitan Police Taskforce, via their official Twitter account @MetTaskforce, where a spokesperson said: "U23 officers in unmarked cars stopped a private hire vehicle to check the driver's details.

"Turns out he was carrying more than just fares. Approximately 6kg of Class A drugs with an estimated street value of £600k to be precise."
