Concerns over the speed of taxis and motorcycles, along with reports of antisocial behaviour, have prompted targeted police patrols on Mill Road in Cambridge.
Officers from Policing Cambridge City have been active in the area as part of the Mill Road Monday scheme, which aims to address traffic and community safety issues. Their recent patrols involved slowing down vehicles and engaging with residents to gather further feedback.
The police say the enforcement work follows reports from members of the public, and they are encouraging further community input to guide future patrols and action.
The scheme appears to focus on enforcing traffic restrictions at a key access point to Mill Road, where signage limits entry to buses, cycles and authorised vehicles only. A temporary traffic island is also in place to manage flow and slow vehicles entering the area.
Residents can report antisocial behaviour or concerns about traffic online, helping to shape police priorities.
