Updated: Jan 22, 2020

A private hire vehicle in Birmingham faces prosecution after being caught illegally plying for hire.

The Silver Toyota Prius with Ola App signage on the vehicle door panels was plying in the busy Smallbrook Queensway area in the West Midlands.

The driver was pulled over by a West Midlands taxi enforcement officer who was out working with Birmingham City Council.

The minicab driver now faces prosecution for parking on a licensed taxi rank and taking an unbooked fare.
