The Monaco Principality has launched a unique scheme to boost support for shops, restaurants and taxis with its latest measure the ‘Ticket Taxis+’.
The new “Tickets Taxis+” scheme will offer anyone dining in Monaco free transport in the region.
The Government has decided to launch the system with the aims of revitalising the local economy by supporting traders and restaurateurs, Taxis de Monaco, and residents of the Principality and neighboring municipalities.
The new service offers residents a €15 taxi fare paid for by both the Princely Government and the shops and restaurants participating in the scheme. The Government will subsidise €10 of the fare whilst the partnered businesses and shops will make up the other €5.
This mechanism of the new scheme, through co-financing between the Government and restaurant owners and traders, will contribute towards three key objectives. These include:
Relaunch the activity of taxi drivers
Improve the quality of life of residents of Monaco
Support the activity of our shops and restaurants
According to officials, the scheme will encourage more mobility in the Principality while limiting the use of privately owned cars.
