Motorcycle and taxi crash in Dundee sends two injured to hospital

In the early hours of Sunday morning, 23 July, a collision between a taxi and a motorcycle occurred on Strathmartine Road, leading to the hospitalisation of two individuals.


The incident prompted the closure of the road for several hours as emergency services swiftly responded to the scene.

According to a spokesperson from Police Scotland, the authorities received a call at approximately 2:30 am. Both the rider and the pillion passenger of the motorcycle involved in the crash were rushed to Ninewells Hospital for immediate medical attention. The severity of their injuries has not been disclosed at this time.


Local emergency services, including police officers and ambulance personnel, promptly arrived at the scene to provide aid to the injured individuals.


A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 2.30am on Sunday, July 23, to a report of a crash involving a car and a motorcycle on Strathmartine Road, Dundee.

“Emergency services attended and two people, the rider and pillion passenger of the motorcycle, were taken to Ninewells Hospital by ambulance.


“The road was closed and re-opened at around 9.15am.”
