Motorist DISTRACTED by Sat Nav ends up driving across motorway lanes straight into field
A motorist has been reported for driving without due care and attention after failing to negotiate a motorway bend because they were distracted by their satellite navigation system.
The incident happened on the M6 Motorway at Junction 33 and was reported by Lancashire Police, who used their official Twitter account to highlight the offence.
A spokesperson for the force said: "Driver of this vehicle in the grass was distracted by checking the satnav for directions.
"Subsequently did not negotiate the bend at J33 Lancaster very well and nearly went across three live lanes of the M6.
"Driver reported for due care offence."
An image accompanying the tweet shows the vehicle stopped in what looks like a roadside field in the dead of night.
