From Monday 8 March a minimum £5 charge will apply to drop off directly outside Gatwick Airport’s North Terminal, enforced using automatic number plate recognition cameras.

The charge will be £5 for 10 minutes, and £1 for each additional minute up to 20 minutes. The maximum charge will be £25 and the maximum length of stay 30 mins. Charges are paid online via debit or credit card.

Payment must be made by midnight the day after the visit to drop off passengers at the forecourt.

Non-payment will be enforced through Parking Charge Notices at a charge of £100, reduced to £60 if paid within 14 days.

Blue badge holders are exempt, but you must pre-register up to three months in advance.

New number plate-reading camera technology, barrier-free traffic flow and easy payment options are in place to enable easy airport drop offs without the need to locate change or a wallet. Drivers are encouraged to 'simply pay at their convenience' using one of the many payment methods below.

Payment options

  • Pay for your drop off on the day or up to midnight the day after your visit.

  • Frequent Flyer? Sign up for an Autopay account

  • Apply for your free Blue Badge drop off

  • Apply for the Local Commuter Scheme.
