A motorised Tuk Tuk was seized by police in London after being caught illegally plying-for-hire in the capital.

The Metropolitan Police’s Roads and Transport Unit were notified of the rogue vehicle operating by members of the Licensed Taxi Drivers’ Association (LTDA).

Officers caught the blue and black Tuk Tuk illegally carrying passengers on Thursday 24 November and immediately seized the uninsured three-wheeler.

A Metropolitan Police’s Roads and Transport Unit spokesperson said: “Following recent reports from the LTDA members, the Taxi & Private Hire Team seized an illegal Tuk Tuk caught plying for hire and carrying passengers illegally in Westminster yesterday. #noinsurance

An LTDA spokesperson said: “Thank you, great work!”
