A Nottingham cabbie has had their vehicle operating plates removed by taxi enforcement officers after they found one of the vehicle's tyres was badly worn.

Using their official Twitter account @CPO Taxi Enforcement posted images of the damaged tyre which was way below the legal tread limit.

In one of the images, the cords can be seen exposed on the inside edge of the tyre.

A spokesperson for the Taxi Enforcement Team said: "Not what you want to find on a very wet day.

”Plates taken, reported. Please drivers check your tyres."

TaxiPoint have contacted the enforcement team to find out if the driver was a hackney carriage taxi licence holder or a private hire driver.
