Nottingham City Council have continued their crackdown on the misuse of taxi ranks in the city centre throughout December 2021 by issuing 77 Penalty Charge Notices (PCN).

Taxi ranks are vital for licensed hackney carriage vehicles to safely locate members of the public looking for a ride home or to other destinations. Private hire vehicles and other motorists are not authorised to stop or park on taxi ranks.

Nottingham’s Licensing team released a list of hotspots where the 77 PCNs were issued last month. The taxi ranks in Peachey Street and Long Row saw the most offenders with a whopping 23 and 22 tickets issued respectively.

Other taxi rank hotspots included Lower Parliament Street, Wheeler Gate, Weekday Cross and North Circus Street.
